National Trust announces new fund for African American sites

November 15, 2017: National Trust for Historic Preservation announces the launch of the African American Cultural Heritage Action Fund. 

$3 million of the proposed $25 million fund has been pledged. The fund will be guided by
" ... an advisory panel that includes names like Lonnie Bunch, director of the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture; Evelyn Brooks Higginbotham, chairwoman of the Association for the Study of African American Life and History; actress Phylicia Rashad; and U.S. Rep. Terri Sewell, D-Ala."
